The Importance of Family Photos

How hard can it be?

The only thing my Mother-In-Law wanted for her birthday was a picture of all her children and grandchildren. We’re photographers, how hard can it be? It’s only four adults and four little ones under four years old, in the sub-freezing December air.

While one child cried because they didn’t want to take their coat off, another one fell asleep, and they all wanted to do anything besides look at the camera, let alone smile. But with a tripod, a remote, and a phone clamped under the lens with a dancing fruit video, we managed to capture something that made Grandmother almost cry when she first saw it.

They’ll never be like this again…

Family photos are about more than just capturing the moment, it’s about preserving you and your children, the way you are right now, forever. If you have children, you know they’re changing constantly, and they’ll never be like this again.

A mother we know posted that she could count on one hand the pictures she has of her whole family of five that aren’t selfies. I know it’s hard to get the kids together for a group picture, but they won’t be kids for long. It’s worth the struggle to keep everybody clean on the way to the park, to pester your partner into dressing up and smiling for a camera.

We can obviously help with the logistics side, we can keep your kids attention by making crazy faces at them from behind the camera, we can replace faces so everyone doesn’t even have to smile at the same time, and we’re also super flexible with rescheduling in case the weather doesn’t cooperate, or the day (or your family) just doesn’t cooperate.

You deserve to remember these moments…

Forever.
